Abstract:

Language literacy and numeracy (LLN) or foundation skills are critical for learners in attaining the community, work, or educational outcomes that teaching aims to achieve. Assessment plays a key role in helping teachers identify foundation skills needs, measure progress and acknowledge achievements. Each learner has unique needs and the authors note the challenge in identifying and meeting diverse needs within a learner group.
