Abstract:

This report starts from the position of strong support for a high quality system of professional and technical education. It sets out the changes needed to ensure that the UK has one. The authors argue that, despite the move away from the old system of frameworks to the new Apprenticeship standards, the concern is that many of these new Apprenticeship programmes fall short in terms of quality.
