Glossary term: TVET Australia

Technical and Vocational Education and Training Australia Limited, a ministerial company owned by the Commonwealth, state and territory Ministers responsible for training. It was established by the then Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education (MCVTE) on 18 November 2005 to provide responsive and high quality services to support the National Training System.

In March 2011, following the review of advisory structures and support mechanisms for Australian vocational and tertiary education, and the creation of new national regulatory arrangements (including the new National Standards Council), the then Ministerial Council for Tertiary Education and Employment (MCTEE) decided to close TVET Australia as of 30th September 2011.
